So, this is the bit…

Like most Eagles fans I am really pissed about the national media’s insistence that Jalen Hurts is not a top 5 QB. In Philly we were certain that a Super Bowl victory would silence the skeptics, but after Hurts dominant performance in Super Bowl LIX many analysts doubled down…(Robert Mays, Nate Tice, Steven Ruiz, Derek Klaussen…to name a few).

To combat their nonsense I present my humble dissertation, Your QB Scale is BROKEN, divided into easy to read chapters that I write each week of the 2025 Eagles NFL Season.

My thesis:
If you don’t think Hurts is a top 5 QB then Your QB Scale is Broken. 

Identifying QBs that can win your franchise a ring is the whole purpose of rating QBs. Don’t move the goal posts now. Don’t pretend being able to “make all the throws” is what matters most. Don’t dilute yourself with the lie that stat accumulation is indicative of greatness. 

These are the QBs that Jalen Hurts will face each week:

1 - Dak
2 - Mahomes
3 - Stafford
4 - Mayfield
5 - Nix
6 - Russ?
7 - McCarthy
8 - Dart?

9 - Bye

10 - Love
11 - Goff
12 - Dak
13 - Williams
14 - Herbert
15 - Geno
16 - Daniels
17 - Allen
18 - Daniels

I know it is not QB vs QB in an actual game, but it is when we rank them. So, I will take this schedule as an opportunity to give my argument for why Hurts is better than each of these guys before their matchups. And then we can have some fun after each game comparing how each of them did, knowing full well that they don’t truly face one another on the field.

On weeks Hurts faces someone he has already faced, and in the Bye week, I will write about the best QBs Hurts does not face this year:

Lamar
Burrow
Stroud
Purdy
Murray
Maye

I will also spend time debunking all of the piss poor arguments regurgitated by the hacks that can’t seem to move off their bad takes - you know, like:

Hurts is carried by all the talent on that roster
Hurts can’t make reads
Hurts can’t throw over the middle
Hurts doesn’t throw the ball enough
Hurts doesn’t trust the pocket and bails early
Hurts can’t handle the blitz
Hurts cant…Etc.

This blog is basically a little time capsule - because I bet that these anti-Hurts takes will only look worse with time. The man has already won a superbowl - something very few of the guys held above him will ever accomplish.

We start with the great choking wonder himself - going into season 10 of his career with only 2 Wild Card playoff wins to his name. Never won a Divisonal Round game, never played in, nor won, an NFC Championship game, and he sure as hell does not have a ring.
